Constant on my playlist

First off, a quick update. As well as writing on my own blog, i have now become a contributor too the Glasgow gig site : Ravechild. I will be reviewing new singles and albums as well as the occasional gig review. Already I have wrote a review for the Harry & Hendersons new EP, a link to it is here: EP Review. Its something i have enjoyed so far and looking forward to doing more.

But now, back to business. Reading based band: Tripwires are a constant on my playlist at this moment. This recent surge in late 80's/early 90's grunge euphoric guitar music in my opinion has been brilliant and has brought us band such as Peace, Drenge, Swim Deep, Baby Strange, the Wytches and Tripwires continues the good run.

The 4 piece pose bold guitar rhythms and their sounds include a lot of reverb and echoing. Although not completely the same, when listening to the vocals and lyrics, you cant help but make a strong link to the work of Tom Yorke (Radiohead and Atoms for Peace). The whole album, named Spacehopper runs well together and my personal favorites include Shimmer and Love me sinister which show best the credentials of this band. These guys have the potential to launch themselves into bigger things and I for one hope they make it.
