Kelowna

This is a band neither from Glasgow or has even played in the city, but Fields of Green (F.O.G) are a band that i really want too see tour the U.K. as I think they would get a great reception. The band are based in Kelowna, Canada and they were introduced to me through my great friend (and friend of the band), Torin whilst he was studying here in Scotland. He has a great wealth of knowledge of music and introduced a few genres of music that where new to me. But out of all the bands that he let me listen to, Fields of Green were the ones that caught my eye.

Through their tracks on you tube and their fairly new debut album, you can clearly tell who they have been influenced by: artists like Elliot Smith, Jeff Buckley, Fleet Foxes, Arcade Fire to name a few. The front man: Kyle Tubbs has a great range in his voice which feeds off well from the rest of the band, all clearly talented musicians and songwriters. I really want to see this band play in Glasgow and an Oran Mor with its great acoustics would be perfect for this group. The track that I've put on here is actually quite different from the majority of their work, with a sound that is similar too an early Kings of Leon track, especially with its simple but heavy guitar riff that is truly rock and roll. Fast paced and full of energy, you can see why I really want to see this band.
